Asa Hutchinson
Asa Hutchinson is an attorney, career politician, and a two-term Governor of Arkansas. Prior to serving as Governor, Asa was an Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, the Chair of the Arkansas Republican Party, a member of the US House of Representatives, an administrator for the Drug Enforcement Administration, and The Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Border and Transportation Security. He also served as the Chairperson of the National Governors Association.
Governor Hutchinson announced his candidacy for President on April 2nd, 2023. His campaign is based around three central topics: Prosperity, Strength, and Freedom. On his website, he outlines his ten-point 30-day plan should he be elected. His plan includes the following points: repeal President Biden’s leftist social directives, institute an immediate hiring freeze for non-defense federal workers, issue an executive order to implement a pro-growth energy policy which emphasizes biofuels, secure the border by expanding the wall, end the printing of money in Washington, establish a Commission for the Future of Medicare and Social Security, reform federal law enforcement agencies including changing the leadership in the Department of Justice, eliminate the government penalty for those 62-66 who want to receive social security and continue working, return all production of defense material and equipment to the United States, and strengthen our foreign policy by implementing the Reagan doctrine of peace through strength.
