Prior to serving as Govenor of North Dakota, Burgum, founded software company, Great Plains Software. Burgum built the company from the ground up, initially financing it by mortgaging his family farm. The company was routinely ranked in the top 100 companies to work for in the U.S. Burgum sold Great Plains Software to Microsoft in 2001 for $1.1 billion. He served in executive positions at Microsoft through 2007 before founding several investment companies in both technology and real estate.
Govenor Burgum announced his Presidental Campaign on June 7th, 2023. His campaign focuses on the main topics: Economy, Energy, and National Security. He believes that if the U.S. can get those three issues current, we will unlock the rest of our potential.
To fix the economy, Doug plans to cut taxes, lower gas prices, and cut the cost of living. To fix our energy crisis, Doug plans to drive America towards energy independence by selling our excess energy to our allies and stopping the purchasing of energy from our enemies. To fix national security, Doug will unite the country against our enemies rather than fighting each other.
