Ron DeSantis is the current Governor of Florida. He is currently serving his second term after winning re-election in 2022. Prior to serving as Governor, DeSantis served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Florida’s 6th District. He also served as a special assistant to the U.S. Attorney upon his return from deployment to Iraq. DeSantis served in the U.S. Navy from 2004-2010 when he was honorably discharged from active duty.
Governor DeSantis announced his Presidential Campaign on May 24th, 2023. DeSantis outlines serveral of his policies on his website including declaring economic independence, securing the southern border, restoring military standards, saving the American automobile, and a “We Win, They Lose” foreign policy agenda aimed at cutting ties with the Chinese Communist Party.
