Nikki Haley

Nikki Haley is the former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former Governor of South Carolina. Her political career began in 2004 when she was elected to the South Caroline House of Representatives. She served three terms in the State House before being elected Governor in 2010. In 2017 she resigned the Governorship after Donald Trump appointed her as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. She served in this position from January 2017-December 2018.

Ambassador Haley announced her Presidential Campaign on February 14th, 2023. She is the first woman of color to be a major Republican presidential candidate. In September, Haley announced her “Freedom Plan” in which freedom is the secret to unlocking American success. This plan will initially provide relief and financial freedom to middle class Americans though tax relief. She plans to eliminate the federal gas and diesel tax, cut income taxes for working families, and make small business relief tax cuts permanent. The Freedom Plan also includes vetoing any spending bill that doesn’t revert to pre-COVID spending levels and putting a limit on what the federal government can spend.
